01

Overview & scope

This cookie policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are used on the Uviqs webshop, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can manage your preferences. It applies to all visitors of our webshop, whether or not you place an order.

For broader information on how we collect and process personal data — including data we collect through cookies — see our privacy policy.

02

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the website owner.

Alongside traditional cookies, websites also use similar technologies such as:

  • Local storage — small pieces of data stored in your browser, often used for cart contents or saved designs
  • Pixels and tags — tiny tracking images used by analytics and marketing tools
  • Session storage — temporary data that lasts only as long as your browsing session

Throughout this policy we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies."

03

Cookie categories we use

We use four categories of cookies, each with a different purpose and consent requirement:

Strictly necessary
Required for the webshop to function — checkout, shopping cart, security, login sessions, and language detection. These cannot be switched off and do not require consent under EU law.
Functional
Remember your preferences and choices to improve your experience — saved bottle designs, language selection, recently viewed products. These require consent in most cases.
Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use our webshop — which pages are popular, where visitors come from, and where they drop off. Used in aggregated form to improve the site. Requires your consent.
Marketing
Allow us to show relevant ads and measure campaign performance across other websites. Used only if you give explicit consent.

B2B contextWe sell to business customers, so marketing cookies are used sparingly compared to consumer e-commerce. We prioritise transactional and functional cookies that help you place and manage orders.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our webshop are set by third parties that provide services to us:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform. Sets necessary and analytics cookies for store operation. See Shopify cookie policy.
  • Google Ads — used for advertising, conversion tracking, and remarketing. Cookies set only after consent. See Google advertising policy.
  • Payment providers — handle secure payment processing. Each provider has its own cookie practices, disclosed at checkout.

We have no control over the cookies set by third parties beyond choosing whether to use them, and have written processing agreements with all providers handling personal data on our behalf.

06

Managing your preferences

Via our cookie banner

When you first visit our webshop, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the screen. You can:

  • Accept all cookies
  • Reject all non-essential cookies
  • Customise your preferences by category (functional, analytics, marketing)

Strictly necessary cookies cannot be rejected as they are required for the webshop to function.

Withdrawing or changing consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie preferences link in the footer of our webshop, or by clearing your cookies in your browser settings (this will trigger the banner again on your next visit).

Withdrawing consent does not affect data already collected before withdrawal.

Via your browser

You can also block, delete, or limit cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for the most common browsers:

Blocking all cookies — including strictly necessary ones — may break parts of the webshop, including checkout, login, and shopping cart.

07

Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time to reflect new tools we use, changes in cookie practices, or changes in the law. The version and last-updated date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.

For material changes — particularly those that introduce new categories of tracking — we will refresh the cookie banner so you can review your preferences.
